Shifting sands and a poofy launch February 16, 2008 Filed under Notes.
Some people may have noticed that I had launched my small iPhone-oriented Twitter application named TabIt. For the Twitter addicts out there, TabIt is located in a comfy sub-domain. Built on CodeIgniter, it has been chugging along nicely for about a week with only one or two hiccups during the launch as the bot started running.
Run for your life, the sand is alive!
What I mean by this is that one of my common afflictions strikes again, my free-roaming creativity has once again directed my projects in directions I had never thought of before. What I'm referring to is my decision to do a complete overhaul of the Tea Beta. I did this mainly because I felt that I was not approaching the task at hand correctly. Included in the revamp is a slight shift away from just a statistics solution and more toward an entire project management system. Focusing on everything from managing all the contacts, designers, and developers of the project, tracking time and milestones, to the aforementioned statistics, with the ability to track more than just the project's site.
More spending, hurray! December 23, 2007 Filed under Notes.
So I buy $500 worth of computer upgrades so that I can play Crysis, and then the minute I begin to play I notice something. The sound coming out of my speakers is somewhat similar to that of a dead chicken having air pumped through its windpipe; also whenever I go outside and environmental sounds start, the FPS drops to that of about 5 or 10. I'm thinking about just going out and buying a $40-50 SoundBlaster.

but I also purchased two other items last Wednesday. I bought 2 more 1 gigabyte sticks of Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 RAM. (That brings me up to 4 gigs!) My other purchase was an awesome XCLIO Windtunnel case that looks like it escaped from an actuall NASA Windtunnel. (It's two 25 centimeter fans move enough air to do its name justice as well.)
Crysis here I come! December 13, 2007 Filed under Games, Notes with the tags christmas, spending.
Last night I bought a EVGA 8800GTS (G92) off of Newegg. Mainly I bought it to play Crysis, and possibly Call of Duty 4. (Thankfully Crysis is included for free.) I hope it'll arrive around Monday or Tuesday so that I can post a report on the G92 series awesomeness.
Oh my! 2.0′ness December 7, 2007 Filed under Notes.
In case you didn't know, Rails 2.0 was recently released. My first reaction is "unimpression". (Firefox put a red line under that word.) Read their blog post to find out how much more difficult they made it to learn to use this framework. If you're wondering about my animosity towards Rails, I'm writing a fairly long and detailed post about my feelings and experiences with Rails, it should be published by the end of this weekend.
